The Santa Barbara community is invited to start the New Year with a splash at Polar Dip 2026, a free event for all ages, Thursday, Jan. 1 at Ledbetter Beach on Shoreline Drive.

Festivities begin at 11 a.m., with the official Polar Dip at 11:30 a.m. sharp.

All are welcome to attend, but those wanting to take part in the official dip must complete a registration form and sign the event waiver.

Waivers will be available to sign in person, but participants are urged to register online at www.sbpolardip.com in advance to save time.

Registered participants will get a free souvenir Polar Dip wristband. Certificates will be awarded to those who fully submerge in the ocean without a wetsuit.

Bring towel, warm clothes to change into, hydration, snacks, and festive attire of your choice.
