Santa Barbara High had a roller-coaster girls water polo game on Friday in the Villa Park quarterfinals.
The Dons fell behind 5-1, rallied to within a goal, 8-7, two minutes into the fourth quarter and then watched The Bishop’s of San Diego close with a 4-0 run in three minutes to secure a 12-7 victory.
Abigail Hendrix had four goals, two steals, two field blocks and earned two ejections. Makenna Wright had a team-high three assists and Faith Tedesco had 13 saves.
The Dons will play Orange Lutheran on Saturday at 9 a.m.
