TheraMind Services has just opened its newest Outpatient Center in Newport Beach, expanding on current Centers in Santa Barbara, Santa Monica and the original Chicago location. New TheraMind Center of Newport Beach serves Newport Beach, Costa Mesa, Huntington Beach, Irvine and surrounding communities

TheraMind Services, Inc., a provider of advanced health care treatments for behavioral disorders including depression and anxiety disorders, is opening its newest outpatient treatment center, the TheraMind Center of Newport Beach.

Medical direction at the new center is provided by Dr. Claudia Eppele, who received her medical training at the School of Medicine, University of Autonoma de SLP in San Luis Potosi, Mexico.

She did her residency in family medicine at UC Davis and received her certification in Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) therapy at the Bereson-Allen Center for Non-Invasive Brain Stimulation at Harvard University Medical School.

Dr. Eppele is also certified as a homeopath physician by the Center for Education and Development of Clinical Homeopathy (CEDH).

Dr. Eppele, who has been treating patients using TMS in her private practice in Costa Mesa for many years, is joined at the new center by Dr. Padmini Shamasundra, a psychiatrist also certified in the use of TMS therapy who has been actively treating patients for years using TMS because of the non-invasive nature of the therapy.

Treatment options at the new TheraMind Center of Newport Beach include traditional family medicine and psychiatric services, and TMS, a non-invasive, FDA-approved therapy, which uses rapid magnetic pulses to stimulate nerve cells in the area of the brain known to control mood.

“We are delighted to welcome Dr. Eppele and Dr. Shamasundra to the TheraMind family,” said Mark Heatwole, president of TheraMind Services, Inc. “Together they bring a wonderful perspective to patient care in behavioral medicine.”

“Our expansion into Orange County reflects the increased demand generally for non-drug alternatives for individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, and other mood disorders,” said Heatwole. “TMS has been demonstrated to be highly effective for patients suffering from depression which is not adequately managed by antidepressants.”
