The Santa Barbara Dads Group has opened as a new community for local fathers, with a mission “to create a place where dads can connect, share stories, and support each other in the everyday work of fatherhood.”

Monthly meetups take place at gathering spots such as Dart Coffee Co., Santa Barbara Public Market, and Third Window Brewing. Events are casual and welcoming, with kids encouraged to join.

“Whether it’s grabbing a bite, meeting at the park, or letting kids play nearby, the focus is on building friendships and a supportive network for dads,” organizers said.

“I wanted to create a space where dads can hang out, talk honestly, and be part of a community that includes the kids, too,” said organizer Austin Nieves.

The group said it plans to grow with more events and collaborations with local organizations, giving fathers opportunities to connect while highlighting Santa Barbara businesses that welcome families.
