To help parents explore the wide variety of camps available in Santa Barbara, Noozhawk has conducted a series of insightful interviews with representatives from local programs for this year’s comprehensive ParentNooz Summer Camp Guide.
In this interview, Noozhawk spoke with one. Soccer Schools., to learn more about the exciting camp opportunities they’re offering this summer.
one. Soccer Schools.
Question: What is the name of your camp or program, and what is its primary focus?
Answer: one. Soccer Schools. The main objective is always to be the most dynamic and educational soccer camp in the United States.
The primary focus has always been centered around maximizing the growth and development of the individual player in all areas of the game.
The #1 goal for each camp is to create the ultimate soccer camp experience embodied around culture, passion and character where the athlete not only becomes a better soccer player but a better human being!
Q: How long have you been running the program? Do you have any professional accreditations or certifications?

A: Based in Santa Barbara, one. Soccer Schools celebrates its 26th year running camps in 15 states across the country, establishing the camp as a leader in Elite Day and Residential soccer camps in the United States.
Our US based and International Coaching Staff are highly qualified, licensed and safeguard checked with many coaches who have played at either the college or professional levels. Our Camp Directors come from different backgrounds stemming from Academy programs around the world as well as top soccer programs here in the US.
Q: What specific goals or objectives will participants be working towards during their time at the camp?
A: Players aim to improve decision-making under pressure, enhance their technical skills, and develop a deeper tactical understanding of the game. The curriculum emphasizes creativity, improvisation, and building self-confidence, encouraging players to be bold and not fear making mistakes.
We believe mistakes are guides to becoming a better athlete. We want players to leave with a ring of confidence and higher understanding of how to play soccer and affect the game in a positive way, while being technically savvy.
Ultimately we want our players to become creative magicians with the ball and entertainers who are thinking players and those who truly love the world’s most beautiful game, ole’!
Q: Can you describe the educational components integrated into your program?
A:
- Technical Aspects – Ball Mastery, Juggling, Passing, Driving, Shooting, Volleying, First Touch (Repetitive Conditioning | opposed and unopposed)
- Tactical Aspects – Possession (Rondos) and Transition Games, Counter-Attack Exercises
- Competition – Small Sided Games and Footvolley
- Character Traits and Core Values (Daily Tasks)
- Physical and Mental Components
Q: What is the daily schedule like, including activities, meals, and rest periods?
A: Our East and West Coast Elite Residential Programs are held at Brooks School in North Andover, MA and Cate School in Santa Barbara, CA.
The programs are 24/7 and is for the Club Player that is looking for the ultimate challenge, maximum benefits and wants to compete at the highest level.
All meals, gym and field trainings, dorm experience, pool time (rest and recovery) yoga, field/game analysis and nutrition classroom sessions are included in this Residential Experience. Players wake up around 6:30am and conclude each day around 9:45pm.
Our Elite Day Camps are very structured, organized and professional. These camps are mixed with both recreational, select and club players.

The Elite Day Camps are divided into 3 separate programs: Juniors (Ages 5-8), Goalkeepers and Field Players (Ages 10-18). We separate all players by age and skill levels so each player can receive maximum benefits.
Our Day Camps main objective is for all our players to maximize their play, improvement and enjoyment! Meals are not included in this program and each child is responsible to bring their lunch and healthy snacks. We do provide hydration stations, tents for shade and sound boxes so music is played during the camp.
These camps include a mix of technical aspects, tactical exercises, small-sided games and rest periods.
The one. innovative curriculum consists of the following: Soccercize (Ball mastery and juggling session), Going 2 Goal, Technique (driving, passing and shooting), possession themed games, counter attacks, transition games, 3v3 or 4v4 champion league tournament and footvolley.
Overall, these day camps use game-based learning and expert coaching to improve scoring goals, master 1v1 situations and elevate soccer IQ with themed exercises designed to enhance decision making under pressure
Q: What is the typical age range of campers who attend your programs?
A: The camps are offered for the following age groups:
Jett Program: Ages 3-4 (Intro to Soccer)
Juniors: Ages 5-8
Field Players and Goalkeepers: Ages 9-18
Q: Do you offer full-day and half-day options?
A: Yes, both options are available:
Full Day Camps: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM (Monday-Thursday) and 8:30 AM – 12:00 PM (Friday)
Half Day Camps: 8:30 AM – 12:00 PM (Monday-Friday)
Q: What are your policies regarding staff background checks, training, and the child-to-staff ratio? How do you ensure the safety and well-being of campers?
A: Our #1 priority is the health and safety of our athletes. All staff members undergo comprehensive background and safeguard checks, are certified in first aid/CPR, and receive training in child safety protocols and positive coaching techniques.
Our staff, coaches and teaches with a positive approach and is constantly encouraging and motivating each athlete (child) to find ways succeed. Our child to staff ration varies depending on the session during the day but typically 1:10 or 1:15.
Q: What is the cost of attending your camp, and do you offer any financial assistance or scholarships?
A: Pricing varies based on the program:
Residential Camps: Prices range from $1,349 to $1,549, depending on the registration date.
Day Camps: Full Day Camps are $359 (regular registration) and $399 (late registration); Half Day Camps are $259 (regular registration) and $299 (late registration).
We do provide sibling and multi-camp discounts along with financial aid scholarships for families that qualify.
Q: Is there anything you would like to share about your program that was not already mentioned above?
A: one. Soccer Elite Residential Programs attracts talented youth players from across the country and internationally, including those from MLS Next, Girls Academy (GA), Elite Clubs National League (ECNL), and Olympic Development Program (ODP) backgrounds.
The program’s philosophy encourages players to “Fail Your Way to Success” with an “Attention to Detail” and “Learn by Doing” teaching approach that fosters an environment where the athletes are encouraged to be bold and brave and not worry about failing along the way.
