Santa Barbara High had a tough start with five turnovers on its first five possessions and Edison took advantage to post a 55-43 boys basketball win at the Corona del Mar Tournament.

Bryce Warrecker topped the Dons (4-4) with 18 points and Stephen Davis had eight. Jackson Gonzales and Erik Strandberg had six apiece.

“Our defense was solid again but we were sloppy with the ball,” said coach Corey Adam. “We fell behind by nine early, then we tied it and trailed by four at halftime. We gave two early 3’s in both 3rd and 4th quarters and that did us in.  We gave good effort but we’re still working on consistency.”

Santa Barbara will play West Torrance on Friday.
