A crash involving a motorcycle and a bike sent two people to the hospital Sunday morning above Santa Barbara.
At approximately 10:50 a.m., personnel from the Santa Barbara City Fire Department, Montecito Fire Department, California Highway Patrol and other agencies were dispatched to the 2200 bock of Gibraltar Road, City Fire Battalion Chief Jon Turner said.
The bicyclist had major injuries and was transported by an American Medical Response ambulance to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital, he added.
A second ambulance responded to take the motorcyclist, who had minor injuries, to the hospital.
A CalStar medical helicopter also was dispatched initially but was cancelled due to timing to reach the location.
Gibraltar Road was closed for a time Sunday due to the crash and investigation.
CHP officers were investigating the circumstances that led to the crash and requested a tow truck for the motorcycle as evidence into the case.
