Erin Mendoza, a starting softball player at Oregon State, is transferring to UC Santa Barbara and will join the Gauchos for the 2024 season, UCSB coach Jo Evans announced.

Mendoza returns to California after spending her first two years in the Pac-12 at Oregon State. She appeared in 79 games and made 35 starts.

She also brings experience playing in the NCAA Regionals, Super Regionals, and Women’s College World Series.

“Erin is an aggressive outfielder, she takes charge and is comfortable leading in the outfield,” said Evans. “She has gained valuable experience in the Pac-12 and brings post-season experience to our young ball club. Her experience playing in the Women’s College World Series is invaluable.”

Mendoza attended Los Alamitos High, where she was a three-time Sunset League All-Academic selection.
