The UC Santa Barbara softball team split a doubleheader with UC Davis on Friday at Campus Diamond. The Gauchos lost the opener, 5-4, and bounced back for a 12-5 victory in the nightcap.

The results leave UCSB at 11-9 in the Big West and 24-17 overall.

GAME 1

The Gauchos scored three runs in the third inning and one in the fourth to put go up 4-1.

UC Davis rallied for three runs in the fifth, capitalizing on three UCSB errors.

The Aggies scored the winning run in the top of the seventh on a sacrifice fly by Bella Pahulu

Madelyn McNally, Ashley Donaldson, Alexa Sams and Sam Denehy scored runs for UCSB. Jazzy Santos brought two of those runners across home plate, while Daryn Siegel and Korie Thomas each brought home a run.

Cam Snyder went the distance in the circle and struck out five Aggies.

GAME 2

The Gauchos trailed 5-2 before erupting for 10 runs in the fifth. 

McNally homered and had four RBIs, and Siegel had a three-run triple in the fifth.

Malaya Johnson relieved Ava Bradford in the second inning and finished out the game to pick up the win.
