The Teacher Education Program (TEP) at UC Santa Barbara is accepting applications for the 2025-26 academic year. Those who apply by Jan. 16, 2025 can earn a teaching credential and master’s degree in one year.
By fall 2026, TEP graduates will be prepared to teach on day one in their own classroom.
UCSB’s TEP believes public education has the power to shape a more equitable future for all learners and is committed to preparing creative teacher leaders.
The program offers a 12-month master’s degree plus teaching credential program with credentials in Elementary Education, Secondary Education (specializing in English, history, math, science, or world languages Spanish), and Special Education (specializing in mild-to-moderate or extensive support needs).
The program focuses on developing constructive relationships, immersing participants in a year of supported student teaching, and integrating coursework with fieldwork to put theory into practice.
