Miles Norris, a 6-foot-10 forward who played his freshman season at the University of Oregon and is currently a sophomore at City College of San Francisco, has signed a National Letter of Intent to play his final two seasons at UC Santa Barbara, head coach Joe Pasternack announced Thursday.

“I’ve known Miles for a long time,” Pasternack said. “He comes from a great family and he is an extremely talented young man. We’re looking forward to him being part of our program next year.”

Norris saw action in 27 games for the Pac-12 Tournament-champion Ducks during the 2018-19 season, averaging 3.3 points and 1.9 rebounds in an average of 10.5 minutes per game. He scored a season-high 14 points in a career-high 24 minutes in a Pac-12 Tournament victory over Washington State. Norris also had a 10-point game during the regular season against Pac-12 regular season champion Washington, and he had one of his best all-around games with seven points, five rebounds and three blocked shots against Oregon State.

A native of San Diego, Norris played his final season of prep basketball at Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, N.H., helping his team claim the 2018 New England Prep School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) Class AAA regular season championship. When he went to Oregon, he was rated as a four-star recruit with a scout grade of 87 by ESPN and he was ranked 78th in ESPN’s top-100.
