The UC Santa Barbara men’s and women’s swim teams both won in a meet against UNLV on Friday evening at Campus Pool. The women won by a score of 107-81, while the men finished at 101-87 in what was a well-rounded effort for the Gauchos.

Santa Barbara won first place in 13 of the 17 total events and had 19 different swimmers with individual top-three finishes. The meet included several non-traditional events, such as a 300 Free, as well as a Mixed 200 Free Relay with both men and women.

Senior captain Heaven Quintana was a top performer for the women, finishing first in both the 100 IM (58.27) and 50 Breast (29.81). In the 400 Medley Relay, the women’s “A”, “C”, and “B” teams finished first, second, and third, respectively.

The men’s “A” relay teams were successful as well, touching the wall first in both the 400 Medley Relay and the 800 Free Relay.

The Gauchos return to action Saturday at 11:00 a.m. as they face UNLV once again at Campus Pool.
