UCSB put together big runs in the first and second sets en route to a 25-14, 25-12, 25-20 sweep of UC Davis in a Big West women’s volleyball match at the Thunderdome.

The Gauchos went on a 16-5 run in the first set and blew open the second  set with a 13-4 run. They hit .517 in the first set and .423 in the second.

Tasia Farmer led all players with 13 kills and didn’t commit an error. Her hitting percentage of .722 was a career high. She added three digs and a block.

Michelle Ohwobete put away 12 kills  on .360 hitting and had five digs. Tallulah Froley notched nine kills on 13 swings for a .538 average.

Libero Macall Peed picked up a match-best 15 digs and added four assists and an ace.

The Gauchos, 11-7 overall and 7-1 in the Big West, travel to CSUN on Tuesday and then head to first-place Hawaii for a Saturday match.
