Megan Anderson, a 6-foot junior from San Jose State University, will transfer to UC Santa Barbara to play her final year of collegiate basketball in the 2021-22 season, head coach Bonnie Henrickson announced Friday.

Anderson will redshirt the upcoming 2020-21 season as per NCAA transfer rules.

The Fresno native started in every game over the past two seasons for the Spartans, averaging 8.8 points, 3.3 rebounds, 1.0 assists, and 0.8 steals in a team-leading 31.7 minutes per game in her most recent campaign for the Mountain West school.

In her three seasons in San Jose, she made 188 three-pointers and shot .407 from beyond the arc, good for second in the school’s all-time ranks in both categories.

“I am so grateful for this opportunity, and I cannot wait to be a Gaucho! I’m looking forward to this new chapter,” said Anderson.

“We’re so excited to have Megan join the Gaucho family. She is a prolific shooter, excellent from three-point range, and will be a fantastic addition to the team,” said Henrickson of Anderson.
