The UC Santa Barbara women’s basketball team signed guard Alexis Tucker to a National Letter of Intent, head coach Bonnie Henrickson announced on Thursday afternoon.
The 5-foot-11 guard joins the Gauchos from Texas Tech, where she spent two seasons.
“Alexis is a guard that gives us much-needed size on the perimeter,” said Henrickson. “She has a high basketball IQ and can score at all three levels — she can shoot the three, has a great midrange game, and can finish at the rim.”
In the 2020-21 campaign, Tucker played in 25 games with nine starts and averaged 6.6 points and 3.9 rebounds per game. She had the third-highest field goal percentage on the team at 49.2% and had six games with 10 or more points.
Tucker is from Hawthorne, Calif., and attended Serra High. The four-star recruit led her team to the CIF-SS Division 1 title in her senior year and earned first-team All-CIF honors.
At the club level, she played for the Cal Sparks in the Nike Girls Elite Youth Basketball program.
