The Unico FC Girls 2013 squad earned the 2025 President’s State Cup Championship at the Oceanside SoCal Sports Complex last weekend.

“I am very proud of this team, the hard work and dedication they put in definitely showed during our season and tournaments,” Unico FC coach Lalo Lopez said. “Special thanks to our Club coaches, our families and sponsors who have helped us move this club in the right direction.”

The two-weekend tournament began on Saturday, Jan. 25 when Unico swept a doubleheader with a 3-0 win over Joga G13 and a 2-1 victory over Oxnard United.

On Sunday, Jan. 26, Unico earned a 4-1 win over LQFC to finish group stage as the top seed and advance straight to the President’s Cup semifinals.

In the semifinals, Unico and LQFC squared off for a rematch on Saturday, Feb. 1. Unico once again got the best of LQFC with a shutout 2-0 win to punch its ticket to the championship game.

The President’s Cup championship featured a rivalry showdown between Unico and Oxnard United.

It was a competitive matchup where both defenses shined, but Unico came away with a tight 1-0 victory to take home the President’s Cup title.

Before capturing the President’s Cup, Unico earned the Playmakers Cup championship in November and the Simi Valley Invitational championship in January.

The team consists of Mia Reynoso, Kiana Luna, Camille Blanc, Sofia Vasquez, Marianna Guzman, Charley Magana, Eva Arroyo-Salinas, Marina Ngai, Inez Best, Madi Adam, Charlotte Vernon, Mikayla Corvera and Kaliyah Sotherland.

Lalo Lopez is the head coach and Henly Ngai is the team’s assistant coach.
