A United Airlines Boeing 737 jetliner blew a tire Monday while landing at the Santa Barbara Airport, causing a short disruption in flight operations.

No injuries were reported in the incident, according to Angi Daus, an airport spokeswoman.

United Flight 611 from San Francisco touched down safely at 11:49 p.m., but was unable to move from a taxiway near the main runway.

At least three inbound flights were forced to circle offshore while airport personnel assessed the situation and moved the aircraft out of the runway safety zone.

Two departing commercial flights also were delayed.

“All flights impacted were able to land and take off once the runway was back open,” Daus told Noozhawk.

An hour after landing, passengers were still aboard the disabled aircraft, Daus said, adding that efforts were underway to move the plane and allow them to disembark.

The aircraft reportedly made it to the gate at about 1:20 p.m.
