The event sponsor is Michael & Misty Hammer and the Armand Hammer Foundation. Hammer will be the host of the evening, coming live from his home in the Cayman Islands.

“Michael and Misty Hammer, and the Armand Hammer Foundation, have been vital to the success of our organization,” said Michael Baker, CEO of UBGC. “Their support over the years has helped us open clubs in the Santa Ynez Valley, and allowed us to purchase vehicles that have helped to transport youth from very challenging circumstances to and from our facilities for free on a daily basis.“

United Boys & Girls Clubs is known for the events they hold throughout the year, such as the Carpinteria Kids Auction, Rally 4 Kids, Fall Gala and two golf tournaments.

“I know how vital events are for this organization. Just last year, Rally 4 Kids provided four new vans, a summer meal program for all the clubs, and underwrote the recess programs to just name a few of the experiences this event was able to cover for UBGC,” Hammer said.

Attendees can buy places at a table where they will play at random or buy a table to control with whom they play Blackjack. There will be two playing times, 5:30 p.m. or 7 p.m. All guests will log onto Zoom for an introduction by Hammer, then be separated into zoom rooms to play with a table of six people.

Each zoom room will have a live dealer and place settings around a Blackjack table. The dealer will ask each guest if they want to stand or hit.

“It’s a lot of fun. We played as a leadership team as a demo, and everyone was so rowdy. It felt like a mini team bonding experience,” said Tina Ballue, director of special events for UBGC. “I think our donors are going to love this. It’s very interactive and feels like a party even if we are all apart.”

“This will be a nice way for us to ‘see’ many of our donors again. It has been nice to hear their voices when we call to thank them for their continued support but being able to see them and have them see us again is going to be very rewarding for me,” Baker said.

The event is limited to eight tables of six people. Tickets are $150 for single, $200 for couple. Table sponsorships are available for $1,500.

A table sponsor can invite guests to play with them and will receive a goodie bag of local treats, cocktails and beer that will be delivered to their home if they have a local Santa Barbara address. The goodie bag will have enough for all six players to enjoy two cocktails made by Simple Cocktails, local beer, and local snacks.

Tickets can be purchased online at www.unitedbg.org or by phone, 805-681-1315.
