The California Highway Patrol reopened both directions of Highway 1 between Black Road and Clark Avenue near Orcutt late Saturday night after a multi-hour closure due to a vegetation fire.
Emergency crews responded shortly after 5 p.m. for a report of a roughly two-acre vegetation fire on the west side of Highway 1.
Forward progress was stopped at 6:40 p.m., according to Santa Barbara County Fire Department spokesperson Capt. Mike Gray.

Motorists are urged to seek alternate routes and expect significant delays,” Gray said. “Please avoid the area to allow crews to operate safely… Thank you to our firefighters for their rapid response.”
The fire could be seen on AlertCalifornia cameras.
The cause was under investigation, Gray said.
Additional information was not immediately available.
