A solo-vehicle crash left a sedan in a dry creek bed some 150 to 200 feet off Highway 154 in the Santa Ynez Valley on Sunday.
At 9:25 a.m., Santa Barbara County firefighters and California Highway Patrol officers responded to the incident on Highway 154, east of Armour Ranch Road, fire Capt. Scott Safechuck said.
The vehicle, reportedly a Tesla, smashed through the guardrail and ended up in the dry Santa Agueda Creek.
The adult male driver declined medical treatment, Safechuck said, adding that he may have been under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
A heavy-duty tow truck was requested to help remove the wreckage.
CHP officers from the Buellton area will investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Westbound traffic may be affected while emergency personnel work at the scene, Safechuck said.
