It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Victor Rodolfo Alarcon, who died peacefully at home on Sept. 30, 2025, at the age of 82, after a courageous five-year battle with cancer.

He was surrounded by his devoted family and loved ones in his final moments.

Victor was born on Nov. 4, 1942, in San Bernardo, Chile.

In 1969, he met the love of his life Lucia. The following year, the two eloped to Puerto Rico, where they began their life together and welcomed their first two daughters, Marisol and Caroline.

Always an entrepreneur and adventurer at heart, Victor moved his growing family to Anchorage, Alaska, where they spent 11 meaningful years and had three more children Marco, Rebecca and Natalia.

Eventually, the family settled in Carpinteria, where Victor found a deep sense of home and community. He lived there for the rest of his life, surrounded by love and joy as his family grew.

Victor will be remembered for his warmth, sincerity, and the way he always wore his heart on his sleeve.

He was the life of every gathering, with a laugh that could fill a room and a generous spirit that welcomed all. Above all, he was a devoted husband, a proud father, and the best dad and grandfather anyone could ask for.

Victor is survived by his wife of 55 years Lucia Alarcon; their five children and spouses Marisol (Joshua Halls), Caroline (Daniel Torres), Marco, Rebecca (Alfredo Zamarripa), and Natalia (Eric Vega); and 15 grandchildren Sebastian Torres, Kristopher Torres, Isabella Alarcon, Matteo Alarcon, Joel Alarcon, Sofia Alarcon, Camilo Alarcon, Alfredo Zamarripa, Joshua Zamarripa, Joaquin Zamarripa, Josie Zamarripa, Emilio Zamarripa, Elias Vega, Aileen Vega and Vianna Vega.

Funeral services to honor and celebrate the life of Victor Alarcon will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18 at Carpinteria Cemetery, followed by a reception at the Veteran’s Memorial Hall of Carpinteria.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Alarcon Foundation as a tribute to his legacy. Victor believed strongly in the power of education. The Alarcon Foundation provides scholarships to local students in Carpinteria.

Gifts may be made through the Carpinteria Education Foundation (CEF) Venmo with the designation: Victor Alarcon – Alarcon Foundation.
