Local girls lacrosse student-athletes shined throughout the spring season, and the four Channel League teams in the area were rewarded with All-League accolades.
San Marcos, Dos Pueblos and Cate swept the All-Channel League Individual honors, while the Royals, Chargers, Rams and Santa Barbara High Dons pulled in a total of 32 All-League team selections.
The Royals went a perfect 8-0 in league play this season to capture their third straight league title, resulting in head coach Paul Ramsey being named the Channel League Coach of the Year.
On the field, San Marcos’ Victoria Aldana and Dos Pueblos’ Linnea Clapinski shared the Co-Channel League Most Valuable Player honors after filling up the stat sheet consistently and leading their teams to the CIF-SS playoffs.
Aldana scored 46 goals and dished out 38 assists for 84 total points, while Clapinski poured in a whopping 103 goals to finish second in scoring in the entire CIF Southern Section and third in California.

San Marcos senior attacker Josephine Grossman paced the offensive attack and was named the Channel League Attacker of the Year.
On the defensive side, Dos Pueblos senior goalie Stella Lawler claimed the Channel League Goalie of the Year award and Cate senior defender Lauren Hubbs was crowned the Channel League Defender of the Year.
San Marcos (16-4, 8-0 CL, 1st)
Senior goalie Carly Grant and senior midfielder Lyle Dessouky had strong individual campaigns for the league champion Royals, joining Aldana and Grossman on the All-Channel League First Team.
Meanwhile, senior defender Angie Cruz, senior midfielder Mia Richmond, senior defender Charlotte Smyth and junior defender Maddie Medina locked down the defensive end and controlled the midfield en route to All-Channel League Second Team selections.
The defensive duo of senior Barbie Maganda and junior Aubree Bigler rounded out the team’s honorees as All-League Honorable Mentions.
Dos Pueblos (9-9, 6-2 CL, 2nd)
The Chargers finished as Channel League Runners-Up and were led by Clapinski, Grant and junior defender Gracie Baker, who earned All-League First Team nods.
The trio of senior attacker Hannah Dawes, junior midfielder Natasha Huie and freshman defender Leah Medina showcased the present and future of the program with All-League Second Team campaigns.
Senior defender Seri Gaynes and junior defender Sierra Rodriguez were named All-League Honorable Mentions after consistently slowing down the opposition’s attack throughout the year.
Cate (6-6, 4-4 CL, 3rd)
Hubbs was joined on the All-Channel League First Team by fellow Cate senior defenders Maia Holmes and Lorelei Roof, who played key roles on the team’s third-place finish.
Senior midfielder Carmen Lack, senior attacker Claire Bianchi and sophomore midfielder Posie Hexner helped the Rams control the pace of play and possession all season on their way to the All-League Second Team.
Senior attacker Harper Halbarier and sophomore defender Maree Hawkins shined on the offensive and defensive ends, respectively, and were rewarded as All-League Honorable Mentions.
Santa Barbara High (4-9, 1-7 CL, T-4th)
Junior midfielder/defender Izabella De Leon and freshman midfielder Mia Moelleken-Lezama gave Dons’ fans plenty to look forward to next season with All-League First Team seasons this spring.
The duo of senior goalie Sofia Lopez and junior midfielder Nina Abraham made their impact felt as well and were featured on the All-League Second Team.
Senior attacker Audrey Skultety and junior defender Keely McGaughey capped off the local All-League honorees after being selected as All-League Honorable Mentions.
