In honor of Cesar Chavez Day, the Santa Barbara, Lompoc, Santa Maria and Ventura communities will gather in solidarity for a Vigil for Migrant Families.
Organized by La Casa and a coalition of advocacy groups, the event is designed to uplift the voices of those most impacted by injustice and highlight the urgent need for human rights protections for migrant communities.
“In the wake of ongoing policies that separate families and force individuals further into the shadows, the vigil serves as a call to action — a moment to mourn, reflect, and commit to justice.” La Casa said. “Through youth and LGBTQ+ testimonies, discussions on family impacts, and community action, we will reaffirm the dignity and humanity of all migrants.”
Each location will feature an altar for victims, resource tables for families in crisis, and opportunities for advocacy.
Attendees are encouraged to bring candles, signs, and their voices to stand in unity.
