Visit Santa Barbara, the destination marketing organization for the Santa Barbara South Coast region, has posted the region’s hotel performance data for March 2024.

Santa Barbara South Coast hotel occupancy increased 7% in March 2024, compared to March 2023; hotel occupancy was 70% in March 2024, Visit Santa Barbara reports.

The average rate for a Santa Barbara South Coast hotel room in March 2024 was $280 a night, down 5% from the same month last year.

Revenue per available hotel room was $194 in March 2024, increasing 2% compared to the same month last year.

“March’s hotel data shows an increase in Santa Barbara South Coast occupancy, signifying a positive trend for hotels, local restaurants, shops and attractions,” said Kathy Janega-Dykes, president/CEO of Visit Santa Barbara.

“While this is a positive sign, especially with the approaching summer travel season, it’s important to note our concern that rates for South Coast hotel rooms have now declined for 21 consecutive months,” she said.
