The third-ranked Warriors bested Benedictine Mesa of Arizona with scores of 25-17, 30-28, 25-19 in Murchison Gym Saturday to advance in the NAIA national tourney.

Freshman right side hitter Jessie Terlizzi finished with 10 kills while sporting a ..381 attack percentage, and Patty Kerman tallied seven kills and a posted a .273 attack percentage. Kaylee Ivie and Hali Galloway each added five kills.

The Warriors also used their defensive prowess at the net, tallying 10 team blocks. Ivie was credited with four block assists while Galloway and middle blocker Lexi Malone recorded two solo blocks each.

Westmont advances to the Finals site in Sioux City, Iowa, where the team will compete in pool play on April 27 and 28. The field of 24 remaining teams will be divided into eight pools of three teams each. The winners of the eight pools will advance to a single-elimination bracket that begins with the quarterfinals on April 29.

The Warriors are playing in their 14th NAIA National Championship.
