In celebration of World Breastfeeding Month, Lompoc Valley Medical Center, WIC, Santa Barbara County Health, and the Lompoc Valley Community Healthcare Organization (LVCHO) are hosting a Breastfeeding Celebration Fair.

The free fair will be 3-5 p.m., Friday, Aug. 29 in the Ocean’s Seven Café of Lompoc Valley Medical Center (LVMC), 1515 E. Ocean Ave. Reservations are not required.

There will be activities and resources for the whole family, with special attention to new moms and breastfeeding infants.

“Whether you are expecting, currently breastfeeding, supporting someone who is breastfeeding or are pregnant and considering your options, this fair is for you,” LVMC said.

What to expect:
• Resource tables and family support information.
• Certified car seat checks (first come, first served).
• English and Spanish breastfeeding support circles.
• Community partners, including the Lompoc Public Library, Mom’s Club of Lompoc, and the YMCA.
• Access to lactation consultants, mental health experts and registered nurses
• Enroll in WIC (if eligible).
• Raffle prizes tailored for new moms.

“This is a chance to connect and learn from local lactation and labor and delivery experts in a welcoming and supportive environment,” LVMC said.

Light refreshments will be offered.
