Crews stopped a vegetation fire that burned an estimated 8 acres near Ballard in the Santa Ynez Valley Monday afternoon. 

The blaze was initially reported along the 1500 block of Alamo Pintado Road around 3:45 p.m. and wildfire cameras showed smoke in the area. 

Incident command mobilized firefighting aircraft as well as ground crews, according to emergency radio traffic. 

Firefighters stopped forward progress around 4:45 p.m. and aircraft were released from the incident, according to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department.

The wildfire burned 8 acres and no injuries or structure damage were reported, County Fire officials said.

The cause is under investigation.
