The Women’s Fund of Santa Barbara has elected its all-volunteer board of directors for 2022. A giving circle that enables women to combine their charitable dollars into significant grants to local nonprofits, the Women’s Fund has contributed more than $8.6 million to local agencies since 2004.

Board officers for the 1,100-member organization are Lynn Karlson, chair; Jamie Dufek, vice chair; Kathy Dunlap, CFO treasurer; and Melissa Gough, corporate secretary.

New to the board are Mary Brown, Marita Hawryluk, Denise Hinkle, Mary Luthy and Lauren Trujillo. Continuing their terms are Jacki Belt, Sarah de Tagyos, Nancy Harter, Kathy Hollis, Michele Saltoun, Laurie Tumbler and Sabina White.

The Women’s Fund Board focuses on setting policy and assuring the financial stability of the organization. A volunteer operations management team serves as unpaid staff.

The Women’s Fund has supported 110 local area nonprofit programs serving the critical needs of women, children, and families in south Santa Barbara County. Grants range from $50,000 to more than $100,000.

Following an extensive research process, Women’s Fund members receive a ballot in the spring to vote on projects to fund. The Women’s Fund invites all women to join in its philanthropic efforts. While the voting membership is limited to women, donations from community members or businesses are welcome. For more, visit www.womensfundsb.org.
