As an early kick-off to its Wiggle Waggle Fall Festival, Woods Humane Society will hold a 10-day adoption event featuring 50% off on all pet adoption fees, Oct. 16-25.

The adoption promotion is sponsored by Subaru of San Luis Obispo.

The annual Wiggle Waggle Fall Festival takes place noon-3 p.m. Oct. 24 at Woods Humane in San Luis Obispo, 875 Oklahoma Ave.

“Wiggle Waggle Fall Festival is the ultimate pet celebration on the Central Coast,” said Emily L’Heureux, Woods Humane Society CEO.

More than 900 people and more than 200 dogs are expected to attend the event, she said.

“We can’t think of a better way to spread the joy of Wiggle Waggle than to help remove barriers to adoption so that more dogs and cats can find loving homes in time to join in the fun,” L’Heureux said.

Regular adoption fees, ranging from $65 for senior cats to $200 for puppies under five months old, will be cut in half at the adoption event and during the festival.

Wiggle Waggle Fall Festival features canine carnival fun for families and their leashed dogs, including doggie costume contests, a stuffed animal pull, a dog agility course, a new lure course, and photos with Santa Paws.

More than 30 local vendors make up the Pet Fair area, including #adogslife Collar Scarves, California Canine, Celeste and the Dogs, Cerro Alto Veterinary Specialty & Emergency Hospital, Costco, Hollywood Mobile Grooming, Howell’n Good Doggie Dentals, and Mutts For The Bay.

Also, Oggie’s Treasure Chest, Paso Market Walk, Pet Communicating, Sassy Cap & Co., Savannah Reifers Pet Caricatures, SLODOG, SLOdoggies, Subtly Unique, Thousand Hills Pet Resort/Gentle Touch Pet Training, and Vineyard Kennels.

Local food will be available from Old San Luis BBQ Taco Truck, Yabba Dabba Dogs, Woodstock’s Pizza, and Paradise Shaved Ice food trucks.
