In loving honor of Dolly Parton, Woods Humane Society is waving adoption fees for all dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens today, Aug. 26 at both Woods locations.
As a passionate animal lover, Parton advocated that, “Every paw and every purr deserves a second chance.”
To honor her memory and her sentiment, all dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens at Woods Humane Society will enjoy fee-waived adoptions today.
Woods currently has 85 pets available for adoption, and all have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, licensed, and treated for parasites.
Adoptions include a voluntary 30 days of pet insurance and a free wellness exam at a local vet clinic.
The Dolly Parton memorial adoption event waives the organization’s regular adoption fees, ranging from $65-$200, not including San Luis Obispo County license fees of $32 for adult dogs.
Woods Humane Society locations are at 875 Oklahoma Ave., San Luis Obispo, and 2300 Ramona Road, Atascadero. They are open daily, noon-5 p.m., with adoption hours, noon-4 p.m.
Founded in 1955, Woods Humane Society is a privately funded, nonprofit, animal sheltering and welfare organization that annually places up to 3,000 dogs and cats into loving homes.
