Woods Humane Society invites the community, including leashed and friendly dogs, to its San Luis Obispo campus for the Wiggle Waggle Fall Festival, noon-3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24 at 875 Oklahoma Ave.

The free, fall-themed pet celebration expects to welcome more than 900 human guests and more than 200 dogs.

Activities include kids’ and canine costume contests, photos with Santa Paws, trick-for-treat training challenges, canine carnival activities such as a stuffed-animal pull, and the Woods Pup-kin Patch.

The festival’s Pet Fair will feature local, pet-themed vendors including #adogslife Collar Scarves, Cerro Alto Veterinary Specialty & Emergency Hospital, Costco, Hollywood Mobile Grooming, Mutts For The Bay, Pet Communicating, Sassy Cap & Co., SLODOG, SLOdoggies, and Vineyard Kennels, as well as Old San Luis BBQ Taco Truck and Paradise Shaved Ice food truck. Woods Humane Society will also host a half-off dog and cat adoption promotion during the event to help dogs and cats find loving homes.

The first 100 entrants to register for the Costume Contest will receive Wag Bags, and there will be prizes for the winner in each contest category: Kids, Big Dogs, Little Dogs, and 2 Peas in a Pod.

“Wiggle Waggle Fall Festival is Woods Humane Society’s largest annual event, and it is one of SLO County’s biggest and best pet celebrations,” said Woods CEO Emily L’Heureux. “We look forward to welcoming our community of animal lovers to our SLO campus to join in a day of free fun with pets as the focus.”
