Power is being restored to residences in Northern Goleta and the surrounding unincorporated area of the county following an incident earlier in the day on Monday, the city reports.

At about 11:15 a.m., a large eucalyptus tree fell into some high voltage power lines in the 1100 Block of N. Patterson Avenue near Cathedral Oaks Road.

SCE repair crews have been working on restoring power for several hours.

Originally, the outage impacted almost 500 residences, but the latest update from SoCal Edison as of 3:15 p.m. is that power has been restored to all but 29 residences.

The updated Outage map indicates that power is expected to be restored to all residences by 10 p.m. tonight.
