Sophomore setter Wyatt Silver had a good connection with junior middle Nick Schultz-Clifford in Dos Pueblos’ 25-10,25-11, 25-11 sweep of Buena in a Channel League boys volleyball match on Tuesday night.
Schultz-Clifford put down six kills and Silver dished out 21 assists in the win.
“Nick was working hard in his transitions and serve receive to make himself available for his setters and he was rewarded,” said coach Ehren Hug. “He was a force at the net as a blocker too. He’s been working hard to improve his foot and eye work the last week and it showed tonight.
“Wyatt’s balance was good tonight. He did well at establishing the middles and spreading to the pins at the right times when he took over for senior setter Grant Hughes in sets 2 and 3.
Silver also served up three aces on jump serves.
“His toss was on and he was ripping it,” said Hug.
Micah Goss led the Chargers with seven kills and Jan Schmidtchen added six.
Dos Pueblos is 2-0 in league and 7-4 overall.
