The Lompoc Public Library System has received additional grant funding by the California State Library to bring back the popular Zip Books program after a seven-month hiatus. If a book or audiobook is requested that the library does not own, the library will try to buy the item and have it shipped directly to the person making the request.
Books checked out through the Zip Books program can be returned to the library like other books checked out from the library.
Lompoc Library Director Sarah Bleyl said the Zip Books program substantially expands the library’s offerings.
“We are excited to have Zip Books return to our Lompoc Library,” Bleyl said. “This program has been highly successful over the last four years, and we know our community members love the option to request almost any book they are looking for.”
Zip Books funding is provided by the State of California, administered by the California State Library.
