Grace Fisher Foundation will present Art in the Park: Creative Carnival, a free community celebration of art, music, play and belonging, 1-4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 2 at Oak Park in Santa Barbara.
Designed to welcome individuals of all ages and abilities, the event invites community members to experience the power of creativity in an environment intentionally built on accessibility and connection, organizers said.
Marking the first Art in the Park since its last gathering in 2019 at Tucker’s Grove, this year’s event will bring people together through creativity, connection and inclusive activities.
“While Grace Fisher Foundation has continued to provide year-round inclusive arts programming through its Inclusive Arts Clubhouse and community initiatives, Art in the Park offers a unique opportunity to gather outdoors and celebrate the power of the arts with the broader community,” organizers said.
“As Grace Fisher Foundation continues to expand its impact throughout Santa Barbara County, Art in the Park reflects its ongoing mission to make creative expression welcoming and accessible for everyone,” they said.
Event attendees will find a variety of interactive art experiences, playful activities, and live music.
Visitors can express themselves through bubble and squirt gun painting; contribute to a collaborative community mural; get face painting; collect prizes; explore inflatable games, and enjoy refreshments.
Every activity has been selected to encourage creativity, participation, and community engagement, organizers said.

The Grace Fisher Foundation is dedicated to enriching the lives of individuals with disabilities through the power of the arts.
At age 17, Fisher faced a life-altering challenge when she was diagnosed with acute flaccid myelitis, a rare polio-like illness, that left her paralyzed from the neck down.
“Despite this daunting setback, Grace’s spirit and love for life found renewed expression through the power of the arts,” the foundation said.
“With a mission centered on fostering community inclusion, education, creation, and self-discovery, we strive to create an accessible space where people of all abilities can connect with music, art, dance, and various forms of artistic expression,” the foundation said.
