Ageless Fitness, a local studio specializing in older adult exercise programs, was awarded Best in Fitness at the 2023 Latino Business Awards held recently at the Arlington Theatre in Santa Barbara.
The second annual Latino Business Awards showcased an array of local enterprises and businesses. More than 50 awards were handed out to Santa Barbara entrepreneurs, leaders and businesses. The event was organized by Andy Gálvez of Miranda Entertainment.
“I am thankful for the opportunity to work in a beautiful community, and I am grateful for our clients who have trusted us to work with them,” said Emmanuel Verduzco, Ageless Fitness’ co-founder/CEO Verduzco in accepting the award.
Ageless Fitness provides specialized fitness programs for older adults, advocating for senior programs, and promoting active aging in Santa Barbara.
“We are immensely honored receive the Best in Fitness award here at the 2023 Latino Business Awards,” he said. “This recognition is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our amazing team.
“We are beyond grateful to be acknowledged for our pursuit to reimagine aging and promote holistic exercise programs.”
Verduzco also was awarded Congressional Recognition by the California State Legislature, and Certificates of Recognition by Congressman Salud Carbajal and State Sen. Monique Limón at the ceremony.
Verduzco, a Santa Barbara native, saw the need for a senior fitness program. In 2018, he teamed up with co-founder Julie Pollard to start the program. Ageless Fitness’ vision is to redefine aging through personalized exercise programs.
Originally located in Goleta, Ageless Fitness expanded to become a franchise in 2020, opening its first franchise location in Estero, Florida, in September 2022.
After a period of closure due to the pandemic, Ageless Fitness reopened in May 2022 at 29 W. Micheltorena St., Santa Barbara. The location features two private fitness studios and new recovery modalities.
