Your dog is dirty, but that’s OK.
The Dirty Dog, Wash & Goods is now open at 2601 De la Vina St. in Santa Barbara. It’s a pet store and self-serve dog wash. You can even bring in your dog for treatment if Rufus gets skunked.
For $25, a dog’s wash includes hypo allergenic shampoo, a fresh towel, a pet blow dryer, brushes and combs, and cologne spritz, in a large waist-high wash tub.
“There are so many dog lovers in Santa Barbara,” said Tracy Clark, who owns the shop with Alex Keithley. They also own the nearby Yellow Belly restaurant.
The dog shop offers boutique products such as leather goods, dog leashes, collars and ceramic dog bowls. The bright shop features an ample offering of goods and a dog area toward the back.
“We give you tricks and tips on how to best wash your dog,” Clark said. “It’s great for people who don’t have a bathtub at home, don’t have outdoor space to wash their dog, or just have a super dirty dog and want to leave the mess with us.”
The place also offers nail trips and de-skunk paste.
During May, Dirty Dog patrons can get free beer from Yellow Belly. The company is also offering buy five washes and get the sixth for free.
Crush Bar Closes
Santa Barbara queer bar Crush Bar is closing for good this Friday.
“Tomorrow is our last night. We will always have a Crush On You. Thank You & We love you,” the company posted on Instagram.
The bar announced a year ago that it was up for sale. No owner has emerged. The business is up for sale on compassfirst.com. Serious inquiries can be emailed to crushbarsb@gmail.com.
Earlier in the year, Crush Bar posted “Save Crush Tap and help find a new owner to keep our beautiful queer bar growing and glowing! We are saddened to share we need to hand the queen’s reign to another but need to focus on family and personal obligation.”
The bar is owned by the same family that owns Crushcakes.
