A new barbecue spot is joining the Camino Real Marketplace in Goleta early next year.

Solvang’s Whiskey ‘N Rye Smokehouse plans to open at 6920 Marketplace Drive, next to restaurant Jane, in January.

The location will be the second full-service restaurant and follows the trails of Que – West Coast BBQ, a branch of Whiskey ‘N Rye Smokehouse, opening in the Santa Barbara Public Market in December

The restaurant’s other location is in Solvang at 442 Atterdag Road.

Don Conner, Whiskey ‘N Rye Smokehouse CEO and strategist, told Noozhawk that the decision to open a Goleta location was based on the success of the downtown Santa Barbara location.

“Our new Goleta location will represent the full expression of the Whiskey ‘N Rye experience,” Conner said.

“Unlike Que in the Public Market, our Goleta restaurant will offer full-service hospitality, an expanded menu, a full bar with a dedicated whiskey program, and a more immersive dining atmosphere that reflects the true personality of Whiskey ‘N Rye.”

The Camino Real Marketplace spot used to be home to Vicenta’s Mexican Restaurant.

Luxury Women’s Clothing Store Coming to Santa Barbara

Margaret O’Leary will open its doors at 1235 Coast Village Road in June.

The Santa Barbara location will be the brand’s 14 retail location selling luxury women’s clothing pieces.

The brand is “rooted in Irish knitwear tradition,” according to CEO and Creative Director Margaret O’Leary.

“Our brand has always been deeply rooted in California’s effortless style, and Montecito is the perfect reflection of that ethos,” O’Leary said in a press release.

TruBeauty Opens in Old Town Goleta

A “one-stop” beauty bar opened in Old Town Goleta in early May.

Owner and former celebrity makeup artist Patricia Guerrera opened up TruBeauty at 281 S. Magnolia Ave., offering massages, hair and makeup, skin care, waxing and eyelash services.

The new location is an expansion of the beauty bar’s services from Santa Barbara to Goleta, according to a press release.

Guerrera also holds in-person and online classes through the TruBeauty Lash Academy for services such as eyelash extensions, skincare and waxing.

In-person eyelash extension courses range from $750 to $999.

“I’m thrilled to be serving the Goleta community now with my new TruBeauty bar. A lot of my clients are already located in this area, and now I’m so much closer for them to visit me regularly,” Guerrera said in a statement.

The Barber Shop Relocating Downtown

Santa Barbara State Street’s The Barber Shop is relocating and expanding to another downtown location this summer.

The Barber Shop will be moving to 429 State St., a property that business owner Jorge Salgado recently purchased.

The spot is a little more than a mile away from its current location at 1233 State St., where it has been for the past nine years.

“As someone born and raised in Santa Barbara, State Street has always meant something special to me,” Salgado said in a press release. “To invest in it not just as a business owner, but now as a property owner, is a milestone I don’t take lightly.”

The shop’s switch to another location on State Street will expand its hairstyling, boutique salon and luxury grooming services and add a new “royal treatment” service.

The shop will host a soft opening on Saturday, June 6 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and will officially open in July.

The Barber Shop also has an Oxnard location at 571 Collection Blvd.
