Local resident Kyle Ashby invites the public to play in his Sandbox.
The business owner has opened his third Sandbox shared co-work space, this time in Goleta.
The location, at 69 Santa Felicia Drive, features 14 office spaces, two large indoor meeting and training rooms, outdoor work and meeting areas, and events space.
“I’m excited to bring The Sandbox to Goleta and offer a space for local businesses and professionals,” Ashby said. “The dynamic new space will feature great on-site amenities, including outdoor workspace and member perks as well as events, programs and classes.”
Ashby said the place is also great for networking.
“The space will be a great center for business and innovation as well as a space where people can gather to connect, learn and have some fun,” Ashby said.
The other locations are 414 Olive St. in Santa Barbara and 1345 Park St. in Paso Robles.
According to a news release, The Sandbox Goleta offers co-working memberships starting at $247 a month to use the common space, enjoy coffee and other benefits. Private offices start at $750 per month. There are also coworking day passes available for $25 a day, and offices are rentable by the day as well as meeting and gathering space starting at $40 an hour for coworking and office members, the news release states.
Ashby said The Sandbox can also function as a venue for film screenings, business events, pitch nights, networking events and private celebrations. The new location is near the Camino Real Marketplace, restaurants, shops, breweries, hotels and UC Santa Barbara. He said he hopes to hold events in partnership with Draughtsmen Aleworks, which is located next door.
Ashby founded The Sandbox Santa Barbara in 2017 and The Sandbox Paso Robles in 2021. A former employee of the tech world, he also founded and runs Startup Summer Camp, an immersive entrepreneurial program for students and visiting entrepreneurs, and StartupSB, an organization focused on connecting Santa Barbara-area entrepreneurs and startups. He has bachelor degrees in film studies and geography from UCSB and a master’s degree in business administration from Babson College.
It’s the second co-work space to open in Goleta. Good Space, at 320 Storke Road, also serves people looking for offices on a monthly and day schedule.
