A woman was found dead early Monday near the dolphin fountain in Santa Barbara, but authorities say foul play is not suspected.

The Santa Barbara Police Department received a report of a body near the base of Stearns Wharf at about 6:30 a.m., according to Sgt. Ethan Ragsdale.

Santa Barbara Harbor Patrol officers were the first personnel on scene, Ragsdale said.

Personnel from the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Coroner’s Bureau were called in and took over the investigation, Ragsdale said, and were working to determine the woman’s identity.

“No other information is available at this time,” he added.
