The Santa Maria Philharmonic Society has introduced Brynn Albanese as concertmaster ahead of its upcoming concert season.
Albanese’s career spans nearly four decades across multiple continents.
After graduating from the Peabody Conservatory of Music, she served as concertmaster of the Tanglewood Orchestra. Her eight-year tenure with the Boston Symphony Orchestra and Boston Pops included extensive touring and recording.
In 1998, she moved to the Netherlands, playing with the Philharmonic of The Hague and participating in various European chamber music festivals.
Returning to California in 2006, Albanese held positions with the Monterey Symphony, Cabrillo Festival Orchestra, and Festival Mozaic Orchestra. She also explored world music with the ensemble Café Musique from 2008-20, and founded Cambria Concerts Unplugged in 2018.
During the pandemic, Albanese created a mobile one-woman show and developed an online educational series, “Exploring the World Through Music.”
She furthered her education, becoming a Certified Music Practitioner and end-of-life doula, providing therapeutic music in various medical settings for the terminally ill.
Albanese is also involved with Ecologistics.org, using her musical talents to support underprivileged communities, addiction treatment centers, and mental health facilities through her company Pneuma Melodies.
