The Carpinteria Noon Rotary Club this week hosted three sheriff deputies — James Carl, Van O., and Max Moore — along with their canine partners, showcasing the skills of their dogs Yeti, Dude and Obi.

The event featured a demonstration of the teams’ abilities in drug detection and suspect apprehension.

“Carl and his German shepherd Obi showed agility and precision, while Max Moore and his Labrador Dude showcased exceptional tracking skills,” organizers said.

“Vanessa and her spirited dog Yeti captivated the audience with their teamwork, illustrating the vital role these canine teams play in public safety,” they said.

The deputies offered the Rotary members insights into their work and the extensive training required for their canine partners.

“The event was not only informative but also a thrilling display of how these remarkable dogs help keep our communities safe,” Rotary officials said.
