Carpinteria High found plenty of individual and team success throughout the spring season, resulting in many Warriors earning All-League honors.

From track & field to tennis, Carpinteria High was well-represented in every spring sport.

Girls Track & Field

The Warriors finished first in the Citrus Coast League, winning the league’s award for Coaching Staff of the Year on the way to that finish.

Individually, Carpinteria’s Averi Alexander stood out in several events and was named the Citrus Coast League Outstanding Field Athlete of the Year.

Alexander led the All-League First Team honorees, earning spots for both the long jump and the triple jump.

The other All-League First Team Warriors were Vivian Huskins (100), Lela Roberts (100 hurdles), Mika Mullikan (300 hurdles) and Amarisse Camargo (Shot Put).

Second Team: 400 relay team (Anna Morrison, Averi Alexander, Vivian Huskins, Kaydence Gardner), 1,600 relay team (Mika Mullikan, Izzy Scott, Ruby Cluderay, Kiana Kia), Vivian Huskins (200), Mika Mullikan (100 hurdles), Melanie Avalos (Shot Put), Keilly Hernandez (Discus).

Honorable Mentions: Ruby Cluderay (400), Audrey Kramer (3,200)

Boys Track & Field

On the boys side, the Warriors track & field squad did not find as much success as the girls, but there were still several standout athletes on the squad.

The lone All-League First Team member for Carpinteria was Nathan Carillo in the pole vault.

Second Team: Wes Chung (100 hurdles)

Honorable Mentions: 1,600 relay team (Joel De Lira, David Esquivel, Daniel Velazquez, Andriy Alvarado), Jeremy Haines (Pole Vault)

Boys Swimming

The Carpinteria boys swimming squad had a dominant season, racing to a Citrus Coast League championship, with head coach Jon Otsuki being named the league’s Coach of the Year.

The Warrior relay squad of Jake Ehlers, Asher Smith, Jackson Melton and Jacob Otsuki earned All-League First Team nods for both the 200 and 400 freestyle relays.

Meanwhile, Otsuki (50 free), Melton (100 breaststroke) and Jake Ehlers (500 free) all picked up All-League First Team honors as individuals.

Second Team: 200 medley relay team (Matthew Endo, Stefano Piccoletti, Sky Korling, Griffin Yamaoka), Jackson Melton (200 free), Asher Smith (50 free, 100 backstroke), Sky Korling (100 fly), Jacob Otsuki (100 free), Eli Sheaffer (500 free)

Honorable Mentions: Sky Korling (200 free), Eli Sheaffer (200 IM), Jake Ehlers (50 free), Matthew Endo (100 butterfly, 100 backstroke), Chris Reed (500 freestyle), Stefano Piccoletti (100 breaststroke)

Girls Swimming

The Warrior girls made it two Citrus Coast League titles in the pool in 2024 after a strong season of their own.

The 200 freestyle relay team of Hazel Dugre, Giulia Piccoletti, Izzy Scott and Lilli Nemetz swam their way to a spot on the All-League First Team.

Individually, Giulia Piccoletti earned All-League First Team honors in the 200 IM.

Second Team: 400 free relay (Hazel Dugre, Giulia Piccoletti, Lucy Moore, Lilli Nemetz), Izzy Scott (50 free), Lilli Nemetz (500 free), Giulia Piccoletti (100 breaststroke)

Honorable Mentions: Lilli Nemetz (200 free), Mina Handall (200 IM, 500 free), Hazel Dugre (100 butterfly), Izzy Scott (100 free)

Boys Tennis

On the tennis court, the Warriors enjoyed a stellar season that was capped off by a Citrus Coast League title. As a result, head coach Charles Bryant was named the Coach of the Year.

The lone Carpinteria player on the All-League First Team was Elio Taha for his excellence in singles play.

Second Team: Max Stone (Singles), Nolan Martin (Doubles), Lucas Martin (Doubles), Edwin Hernandez (Doubles)

Honorable Mentions: Matthew Endow (Singles), Servando Campuzano (Doubles)

Boys Volleyball

On the indoor court, the Warriors had a solid year that ended in a 6-4 record in league play, good for a tie for second in the Citrus Coast League.

Representing Carpinteria on the All-League First Team for his performance throughout the season was senior Xavier Reyes.

Second Team: Andreas Quezada, Angel Zamora

Honorable Mentions: Mario Mares, Cole Rowbottom, Alariuziel Rodriguez

Baseball

The Warrior baseball team finished the year tied for third place in the Citrus Coast League with a record of 5-7.

The senior trio of Shane Goodmanson, Talon Trumble and Isaac Flores played a critical role in the team’s success, earning them spots on the All-League First Team.

Second Team: Oscar Velazquez, Joaquin Ramirez

Honorable Mentions: Judah Torres, Beto Martinez, Aiden Alcaraz

Softball

Rounding out the spring sports for Carpinteria is softball, a team that placed fourth in the Citrus Coast League after finishing the league season at 4-6.

Amarisse Camargo was at the center of the Warriors’ offense all season, and she was rewarded as the lone player on the All-League First Team.

Second Team: Ashlee Mora

Honorable Mentions: Alexiana Jaimes, Isabella Velasquez, Cecilia Lemus
