The community is invited to hunt for crafts, treasures and collectibles at the Carpinteria Valley Historical Society and History Museum’s Marketplace 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31 on the museum grounds, 956 Maple Ave., Carpinteria.
The marketplace’s gathering offers handcrafted jewelry, artisanal food products, film camera collections, handicrafts, exotic plants, and furniture. There will be free musical entertainment.
Hot dogs, cold beverages, and snacks are available for purchase.
Prices at Granny’s Attic, the booth operated by the museum, begin at 25 cents. Granny’s Attic offerings include toys, linens, kitchenware, dishware, dolls, figurines, and record albums.
Suz-Anne Evans’ and Terrilyn Giamoni’ business Creative Mermaid Designs sells handmade Croc charms and custom items. Evans has been involved with the Marketplace since she moved to town in 2021.
“It’s a great cause to support and I enjoy having the business/personal connections I have made because of it,” she noted.
Made possible by community volunteers.
In September, events at the museum include New Volunteer and Docent Drop-in, 11 a.m.-noon Sept. 10 and Sept. 26; and a Talk and Talkback Event, Moment of Truth: Sorting Fact from Fiction in the Misinformation Age, 5-6 p.m. Sept. 30.
