Nearly 50 years ago, Israeli forces carried out the daring rescue of more than 100 Israeli airline hijacking hostages held in Entebbe, Uganda.

The Jewish Federation of Greater Santa Barbara and Congregation B’nai B’rith, on Tuesday, June 9, will host Dr. Ephraim Sneh, who served as the chief medical officer on the elite commando team that carried out the Entebbe rescue mission.

Dr. Sneh’s talk will be 5:30 p.m. at the Adam Bronfman JCC, 524 Chapala St., Santa Barbara.

In conversation with Steve Zipperstein, Dr. Sneh will discuss his thoughts on the Entebbe operation; his decades of leadership in Israel; and the challenges and opportunities facing the Middle East today.
