The regular season has come and gone, and it is now time for high school postseason baseball.

Five local squads played well enough to clinch a spot in the CIF-SS playoffs. Here are their first-round matchups.

San Marcos fell just short of its fourth straight Channel League title, finishing in second place with an overall record of 14-12-1.

After an appearance in the CIF-SS Div. 3 title game last year, the Royals will now be competing in the CIF-SS Div. 2 playoffs.

In the first round, San Marcos will open up on the road against Palos Verdes (17-11, 1st in Bay League) on Thursday at 3:15 p.m.

Santa Barbara High earned the program’s first Channel League title since 2019 this season, registering a strong record of 18-6.

As a result, the Dons will begin their CIF-SS Div. 3 playoff run at home at Eddie Mathews Field this week.

They are slated to play host to Mission Viejo (15-13, At-Large Bid in South Coast League) in the opening round on Friday at 3:15 p.m.

Dos Pueblos ended the season in fifth place in the Channel League but earned an at-large bid into the CIF-SS Div. 4 playoffs.

However, the Chargers will be tasked with defeating the division’s No. 1 seed in the first round.

Dos Pueblos will head down to face Camarillo (20-3, 1st in Coastal Canyon League) on Thursday at 3:15 p.m.

Carpinteria High’s final overall record of 7-8 and solid league play was enough to pick up a third-place finish in the Citrus Coast League and a playoff spot.

This postseason, the Warriors will compete in the CIF-SS Div. 6 bracket.

In the first round this week, Carpinteria will be on the road against Colony High (21-5-1, 2nd in Palomares League) on Thursday at 3:15 p.m.

Cate rounds out the local baseball squads in the playoffs after finishing the year with an overall record of 11-5.

The Rams earned the second-place spot in the Frontier League to clinch a CIF-SS Div. 8 playoff slot.

Similar to most local teams, Cate will be on the road to begin the playoffs when they take on University Careers and Sports Academy (13-6, 1st in Agape League) on Thursday at 3:15 p.m.
