In the shadow of downtown Santa Barbara, Bungalow 626 is a hidden gem for those seeking a truly special gathering space.
With its unique blend of indoor comfort and outdoor elegance, this historic craftsman bungalow redefines what it means to host private events in Santa Barbara.
Charm Meets Versatility
From the moment you approach the classic façade of the bungalow at 626 De la Vina St., you’re greeted by lush gardens and the warm glow of string lights, setting the tone for an evening that feels both exclusive and welcoming.
The property seamlessly fuses indoor coziness with spacious outdoor patios, offering a rare combination of privacy, versatility and that signature Santa Barbara charm.
Inside, the bungalow boasts inviting lounge areas and flexible dining spaces — ideal for everything from business luncheons to milestone celebrations.
Step outside, and you’ll find thoughtfully arranged garden seating, cozy fire pits, and intimate nooks perfect for conversation or cocktail hour.
The entire venue is turnkey, fully equipped with on-site furniture, tables, chairs and even tableware, allowing hosts to focus on their guests and the experience rather than logistics.

More Than a Venue
Bungalow 626 can comfortably accommodate 50 guests for a seated meal or up to 65 for a reception-style event.
It’s a space that feels like a private home, yet carries all the amenities and professionalism of a high-end event venue.
The flexible layout — paired with perks like private restrooms, refrigeration, TVs and bar stations — makes it ideal for corporate dinners, rehearsal dinners, bachelor/bachelorette parties, wellness retreats and VIP receptions.
Free on-street parking is just the icing on the cake in this prime location.
Planning is made easy with clear, guest-friendly guidelines — BYOB is allowed, as are outside rentals and acoustic music, and the space is open to personalized décor with prior approval.
Every event is wrapped in an atmosphere of warmth and exclusivity.
Passionate Hospitality

Having met John Savage, the visionary owner and founder, as well as the dedicated staff at Bungalow 626, I was struck by the pride and professionalism that define every aspect of this business.
Savage’s energy and enthusiasm are immediately apparent, rooted in nearly 30 years of experience serving the Santa Barbara community through his celebrated Creative Services Catering company.
His journey began after graduating from Santa Barbara City College’s School of Culinary Arts with honors.
Inspired by a deep love for food and hospitality, he started his catering business while living in Seattle, flying between the Pacific Northwest and Santa Barbara to build his reputation and clientele.
Today, that commitment shines through not only in the delicious food but also in the inviting, luxurious ambiance of Bungalow 626.
Every member of the staff shares this dedication — there’s a genuine passion for creating memorable moments and a palpable sense of pride in making each guest feel welcomed and cared for.
Whether an intimate gathering or a grand celebration, you can trust that your vision will be brought to life with attention to detail and authentic hospitality.

Culinary Excellence
What truly sets Bungalow 626 apart is the food.
Creative Services Catering crafts menus that showcase fresh, seasonal ingredients sourced directly from Santa Barbara County’s abundant local farms and purveyors.
The culinary team, guided by Savage’s inventive spirit, works closely with each client to design fully customized menus that highlight both global inspiration and local flavors.
From signature dishes that have become guest favorites to the soon-to-launch “Savage’s Sassy Sauce” — a tantalizing accompaniment for beef, chicken, fish and vegetarian dishes — every plate is a reflection of creativity and quality.
The attention to detail extends to accommodating dietary restrictions and special requests, ensuring every guest is delighted.
During my visit, I was treated not only to a feast of flavors but also to an immersive experience, as guests can watch the talented chefs at work in the on-site kitchen.
There’s something deeply satisfying about seeing your meal prepared with such care, knowing that everything from the produce to the presentation has been thoughtfully curated.
Atmosphere for Every Occasion
Bungalow 626’s ambiance is what makes it truly special. The space is designed to feel like an extension of your own home — relaxed, intimate and far removed from the bustle of crowded restaurants or impersonal banquet halls.
The front garden offers a charming welcome, while the main floor invites guests to unwind in cozy lounge spaces or gather around a beautifully set buffet.
The back patio, with its lush greenery and comfortable seating, provides the perfect backdrop for al fresco dining, toasts and memorable photos.
There’s an unmistakable sense of luxury here, but it’s never stuffy — instead, it’s effortless and inviting.
The atmosphere encourages guests to linger, connect and savor every moment. It’s no wonder that many clients return again and again, entrusting Bungalow 626 with life’s biggest milestones, from weddings and anniversaries to company celebrations and wellness retreats.

Legacy Connection
Savage and his team have spent nearly three decades cultivating lasting relationships with clients who feel more like family.
Many have celebrated weddings, then returned years later to see their children married at the same venue — a testament to the deep connections and lasting memories forged at Bungalow 626.
Looking ahead, the future is bright. Plans are in place to launch “Savage’s Sassy Sauce” to the wider public, and he remains committed to keeping his talented team rooted in Santa Barbara, creating exceptional experiences for years to come.
The kitchen, always at the heart of the operation, continues to evolve, offering a wide range of menu options for every budget, all while maintaining an unwavering focus on quality and freshness.
