Across Santa Barbara’s creative landscape, few artists weave together community, movement and inner awareness quite like Champagne Smoke.

She blends art, movement, storytelling and food into experiences that awaken the senses and invite meaningful reflection.

Her work does not sit neatly in one lane and she prefers it that way. Each medium carries its own language, but together they speak to nourishment, expressionand presence.

For Champagne Smoke, intuition is the compass. Whatever calls to her in the moment becomes the vessel.

That approach is the foundation of what she calls The Blooming Philosophy, a lifestyle rooted in creativity and mindfulness.

It is less about performing and more about returning to self. She encourages alignment and flow rather than perfection, helping people reconnect with their sense of wholeness.

One of her most memorable recent experiences came during a period of deep uncertainty within the local community. Many neighbors were navigating fear, displacement and sudden changes.

Champagne Smoke responded by creating a space that felt grounding. She listened to what people needed in that moment, comfort, gentleness and a breath of calm. Participants left feeling seen and supported, and that reaction affirmed the heart behind her work.

Her husband, Sher, an artist and guitarist, performed healing music during the session, deepening the sense of collective care. For everyone involved, the experience was both beautiful and transformative.

Community sits at the center of her creative practice. Growing up surrounded by cultural blend and diversity, she witnessed the power of connection early on.

Champagne Smoke sees herself as both a connector and a cultivator, tending the soil so others can bloom in their own time.

Champagne Smoke’s process begins by listening to the needs of the people she hopes to serve. From there, she designs experiences that amplify shared humanity through workshops, movement practices or immersive visual installations.

The Chicago native sees herself as both a connector and a cultivator, tending the soil so others can bloom in their own time.

To her, creativity is a form of wellness. Each piece she creates is an act of self discovery through color, breath and awareness. That belief inspired her creative consulting practice, where she helps people bridge creativity and mindfulness in personal and professional environments.

As she pursues a 500-hour yoga certification at Yoga Soup in 2026, movement remains her first language. She began in dance, and over time movement has become a pathway to liberation.

The body holds energy. Learning how to move emotion through it allows release, restoration and balance. She hopes to help individuals transform resistance into release and chaos into clarity.

Her creative process flows in cycles. One piece might pause for weeks while another comes to life, but everything returns when the timing is right.

She once questioned this pattern, wishing she fit traditional molds, but she has since learned that it is not procrastination. It is honoring rhythm.

After nearly three decades as an artist, she still discovers new layers of her process and welcomes the evolution. She calls herself a student and a teacher in equal measure.

Looking ahead, Champagne Smoke is excited about new collaborations with the Museum of Contemporary Art Santa Barbara.

These projects will explore mindfulness, art and community storytelling, bringing The Blooming Philosophy to wider audiences. Her intention is not a quick moment of inspiration, but lasting empowerment.

She believes that even in seasons of uncertainty, people have the power to bloom.
