Registration is open for the annual Colorthon 5K, hosed by Lompoc Hospital District Foundation, Saturday, Sept. 26 at the Mission Club in Vandenberg Village. The family-friendly event combines fitness, fun and philanthropy.

Proceeds from the Colorthon 5K will advance the foundation’s priority initiative, the Lompoc Health – Village Center project, and support the foundation’s ongoing mission to strengthen healthcare throughout the Lompoc Valley.

Participants of all ages and fitness levels are invited to run, walk or simply enjoy the untimed 5K experience, organizers said.

Along the course, volunteers will shower participants with safe, colorful cornstarch powder at multiple color stations, creating a vibrant celebration of community and healthy living.

“The colorthon has become one of our community’s most anticipated fundraising events because it brings people together for a great cause,” said Alice Milligan, foundation president. “Every registration and sponsorship helps support expanded healthcare services that will benefit families throughout our community.”

With an anticipated first phase opening in late fall, Lompoc Health – Village Center will provide walk-in urgent care, pediatrics, laboratory services, diagnostic imaging and space for future expansion as the community’s healthcare needs continue to grow, the foundation said.

Early registration for the Colorthon 5K is encouraged by Sept. 17. Participants who pre-register can enjoy a quicker check-in process on race day and can pick up their event T-shirt and race bib in advance. Participants often personalize their shirts before race day.

Pre-registration rates are:
• Adults: $30
• Teams of four: $25 per person
• Children ages 5-12: $15
• Children under 5: Free with a registered parent or guardian (event shirt not included)

After the pre-registration deadline, event-day registration will be $35 for adults and $30 per person for teams of four. Registration for children ages 5-12 remains $15.

Military discounts are available for active-duty, retired and reserve U.S. military members and their families.

Race-day check-in begins at 8 a.m. and concludes promptly at 8:45 a.m., with the colorthon starting at 9 a.m.

The foundation is also seeking event sponsors. Sponsorship opportunities provide businesses and organizations with community exposure while supporting expanded local healthcare services.

Sponsors receive a variety of promotional benefits depending on sponsorship level and play a key role in helping make the Colorthon 5K a success.

Businesses, civic organizations and community partners interested in supporting the event are encouraged to explore sponsorship opportunities.
