VTC Enterprises has been selected as the May winner of Community Bank of Santa Maria’s 25th Anniversary donation, Janet Silveria, the bank’s president/CEO, has announced.
The bank has pledged to donate a total of $25,000 to local nonprofit organizations in honor of its 25th Anniversary.
VTC Enterprises was selected through a random draw from the nominations received from bank customers and will receive a $2,500 donation.
The bank will continue drawing one nonprofit each month, from March through December, awarding a total of $25,000 to organizations serving the Santa Maria Valley.
All nominations remain eligible for future drawings and will be accepted through Dec. 31.
“We’re incredibly proud to be celebrating our 25th anniversary, and we wanted to show our appreciation to our customers by supporting the nonprofits that matter most to them,” Silveria said. “It’s also our way of giving back to the community that has supported us by helping fund organizations that do so much to enrich the lives of local residents.
“We couldn’t imagine a better way to mark this milestone than by doing something that benefits everyone,” she said.
As part of its anniversary month activities, the bank hosted its annual shred event, an ongoing tradition that invites residents to safely dispose of sensitive documents.
This year, the event securely shredded and recycled 44,568 pounds of paper, saving an estimated 380 trees.
“We are happy to provide this valuable service that helps so many people safely dispose of sensitive information,” Silveria said.
